Wake up Wednesday

Wake Up Wednesday is a weekly initiative by The National College aimed at supporting parents, carers, and educators in keeping children safe, healthy, and informed in an increasingly digital and complex world.

Each Wednesday, the campaign releases free, accessible guides and resources that cover a wide range of topics, including:

  • Online safety: Understanding the latest apps, games, and digital trends, and how to manage associated risks.
  • Mental health and wellbeing: Tips for supporting children’s emotional resilience and fostering a positive environment.
  • Climate education: Encouraging sustainable habits and empowering children to become environmentally conscious.
  • Parenting and education support: Bridging the knowledge gap between home and school with easy-to-follow courses, explainer videos, and beautifully designed posters.

These resources are designed to be concise, practical, and visually engaging, making it easier for adults to have informed, age-appropriate conversations with children. The initiative also includes a #WakeUpWednesday app, which allows users to access content on the go, vote on future topics, and receive timely updates.
